The sorrow of our brothers and sisters in Donggala, Palu certainly also be felt by all the Indonesian, including Polman Astra’s civitas academics especially we have students from these tsunami-affected areas. Today, the management of Polman Astra gathered the students to do a dialogue and get information related to the condition of their families in Palu, Donggala and surrounding areas. There are 6 students from Palu, Donggala and Mamuju, 5 of them are scholarship recipients from PT Astra Agro Lestari (AAL):
1. Nur Sakinah (TPHP, graduated on 2018) from Middle Mamuju
2. Muh. Ilham (level 3 TPHP) from North Mamuju
3. Yayat Pangestu (level 3 TPHP) from Palu
4. Dheiyani Dwiputri Sannang (level 1 TPHP) from North Mamuju
5. Mohammad Sholeh (level 1 TPHP) from Palu
And one student is a recipient of Astra Achievement Scholarship, Muhammad Daffa Ridwan (level 2 TAB) from Torue.
Director Tony Harley Silalahi and Deputy I Tonny Pongoh, who also participated in the dialogues, really felt how anxious these students especially after knowing the situation of their hometown, while they’re studying in Jakarta. As we know, the communication lines to Palu had been cut off since last Friday. But we should be thankful to God because based on the information we got, the families of our fellow students are safe, although they have to live in refugee tents until the situation declared safe because until now, the earthquakes are still happening there.
Tony Harley and Tonny Pongoh also tried to give motivation and moral support to these students so that they would keep enthusiast for the new semester they had been through. Hopefully they stay focused to achieve their goals in Polman Astra. “You’ll never walk alone” said Tonny Pongoh, while asking all civitas to praying for recovery in Palu, Donggala and giving the help to the victim to ease their burden. Astra through NURANI ASTRA open a donation for the victims in Palu, Donggala and surrounding areas, for more information, read the attached flyer.
