XVII National Vocational School Student Competency Contest was held on 8-12 July 2019 in Yogyakarta. Polman Astra, once again, participated in the contest that competed the competencies of the best students from 34 Provinces in Indonesia. Other than opening an exhibition booth, Polman Astra also provided the Astra Scholarship for 4 winners from competition branches that has similiarities with the Polman Astra’s study programs.
The annual event that organized by the Directorate of Vocational High School Development, Directorate General of Primary and Secondary Education, Ministry of Education and Culture, took the theme “Competent to Welcome 4.0 Industrial Era”. In 2019, there were 1695 students and mentors that competing in 29 branches of competencies that specifically adapted to the competition branches of the Asian Skill Contest (ASC) and World Skill Contest (WSC). The national Student Competency Contest winner will represent Indonesia in international competition.
Since 2017, Polman Astra has been committed to providing Astra Scholarships for the National Student Competency Contest Winner. This year Polman Astra is aiming at the National Winner in the Electrical Installation, CNC Turning, IT Software Solutions for Business and Plastic Die Engineering.
