The Festivity of the Polman Astra Booth at The Jakarta Campus Expo 2018, JIEXPO Kemayoran, January 22-24, 2018

The day after the Closing of the 2018-2019 Astra Scholarship Program Registration on January 21, 2018, the Polman Astra Promotion Program continues at the Education Exhibition titled The Jakarta International Campus Expo 2018 which was organized at JIEXPO, Kemayoran on January 22-24, 2018. This is the second time Polman Astra has participated in the exhibition which is supported by the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education, Private Universities Coordination Region III Jakarta and the Jakarta Provincial Government Education Office. The public is already familiar with the Exhibition which has been held for the 11th time under the name 2018 JAKARTA EDUCATION WEEK.

Until the Closing of New Student Registration for the Astra Scholarship Program we’d got 5.301 applicants, exceeding the number of registrants last year which was 3.484 applicants. But the New Student Admission Committee still opens the opportunity for visitors of 2018 Jakarta Education Week to register during 3 days of the exhibition, especially for applicants in District of Jakarta, this is for students in the Jakarta area who might not know about the scholarship program. Other than the Scholarship Program, the Polman Astra Booth also exhibited a Laser Engraver machine which successfully attract many visitors, including officials such as Dr. Ir. Illah Sailah, MS., the coordinator of Private Universities Coordination Region III and Budhy Hery Pancasilawan, SH, MM, the Head of the Information and Institutional System of Private Universities Coordination Region III, who on the opening day took a tour to the exhibitors’ booth.

Other than the Engraver Machine, one of our exhibition devices that attracts the visitors is SPIN TOP, a game that challenges visitors to manage strategies from choosing a top design made of various materials, different dimensions, weights, and various shapes as well. The visitors are also required to find the right spinning top technique so that the top can spin as long as possible in the prepared arena. This game looks simple, but the senior/vocational high school students can see how the Vocational Associate school works and learns.

There are at least 15.000 participants attended the 2018 Jakarta Education Week exhibition, most of them were students of class XII from senior high schools and vocational schools under the Jakarta Provincial Education Agency. This enthusiasm proves that they really need more information about the development of the higher education and their chosen majors, as a further step to their desired educational goals.
