ICETASIA (International Conference on Engineering Technology, Advance Science and Industrial Application) was a meeting organized by the Vocational Faculty of the Surabaya Sepuluh November Institute of Technology (ITS) collaborating with the Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST), Bandung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Bandung), and Astra Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Astra). This meeting is a forum for scientists, researchers, industry practitioners and government representatives to present their research and also a place to exchange the ideas. ICETASIA 2018 was held on September 6-7, 2018 at the Alila Solo Hotel, with the theme “Disruptive Innovation for Global Competitive Applied Science and Technology”.
The event opened with the presentation of 3 keynote speakers, and that is Ismet P. Ilyas, BSMET., M.Eng.Sc., Ph.D. (Polman Bandung), Prof. Dr. Mohd Mustafa Al Bakri Abdullah (University of Malaysia Perlis, Malaysia) and Prof. Chen-Chia Chou (NTUST, Taipei, Taiwan) followed with the presentation of papers which were approved by the committee in parallel. This year there were 73 papers presented by participants, not only from Indonesia but from Taiwan. Polman Astra sent 4 papers that passed the selection :

On this occasion, the “Mutual Vocational Academic Excellence Agreement” was signed by ITS Surabaya, NTUST Taiwan, University Malaysia Perlis (UNIMAP), Kumamoto University Japan, Polman Bandung and Polman Astra Jakarta. Tony Harley Silalahi, Director of Polman Astra also present at the signing ceremony. The memorandum allows the institutions to do Faculty Member Exchange, Student Exchange, Exchange of academic information and materials, Exchange of Academic Publications periodically, joint Research Programs, joint conferences, International Internship Programs at the universities and industry, also other academic exchanges.
This collaboration is good opportunity for all Polman Astra civitas academicas. “Polman Astra graduates especially the mechanical engineering graduates can continue their undergraduate education at NTUST Taiwan, but they still need to go through the selection process. This collaboration create the opportunity for Polman Astra graduates to take higher education abroad.” said Abdi Telaga, one of the lecturers and member of the LPPM Polman Astra department, which also a committee at ICETASIA 2018
